James Beard Award Winning Author Dies at 47

It saddens us to report that Cliff Doerksen died unexpectedly last weekend. There have been some great posts written about him, including one from Ira Glass and Anaheed Alani. Doerksen wrote about an endless variety of topics, and didn’t often delve into food history. But his most recent article on mince meat pies was so good it won a James Beard Award back in May.
