Updated: Chris Daly’s Bar Back On?

It looks like outgoing supervisor and aspiring bar owner Chris Daly will be opening Daly’s Dive Bar and Grill at the Buck Tavern after all, despite earlier reports that the deal had fallen through with the Tavern’s landlord. Back in October Daly said he’d “look around and hopefully… find a better space,” but it looks to us like this might have been a bluff, and the landlord must have come back to the bargaining table about that long-term lease. We’re still awaiting comment from Daly, but he and his partner Teddy Stawser just secured a full liquor license for 1655 Market Street, so look for a Daly’s Dive sign to show up there pronto, and look for S.F.’s hardcore progressives to start gathering en masse and discussing issues over whiskey. [Grub Street, Earlier] Update: The Appeal, which must have a phone number we don’t, gets the straight dope from Daly, and since he never got the long-term lease he’s holding out on remodeling but moving in nonetheless.
