A New Truck Is Coming to Town: Cibo Per Strada

The new year will bring some new food, for sure, and on the street food scene Grub Street finds news today of Cibo Per Strada, a fancy sandwich truck that should be debuting next month. The name translates, we think, as “street food,” and proprietor Hannah Hoffman has some experience in kitchens around the city as well as at Vintage Wines in Berkeley. Hoffman promises French- and Italian-inspired sandwiches like a meatball sandwich with fresh ricotta and gremolata; a herb-roasted pork loin with apricot-onion confit and braised greens; and a herbed omelet on pretzel croissant with roasted Early Girls tomatoes and Pecorino cheese. Because of ease of permitting, the truck will likely launch first in the East Bay, but perhaps we’ll see it make an Off the Grid appearance by spring? [Grub Street]
