The South Street Bridge, the veritable missing link — missing for the last two years, at least — between University City and points west of the Schuylkill, and everything else, reopens tomorrow after undergoing a $68 million upgrade. Callahan’s, the last bar on South Street before the bridge, is gearing for what’s bound to be its busiest day since the project started in 2008. The bar is serving $1 hot dogs and discounted drinks from 3 p.m. (when the bridge opens) to 7 p.m. Callahan’s is not alone in this. Just a few blocks down, Grace Tavern is also getting in on the bridge reopening action, serving drinks at the Grays Ferry Triangle (where 23rd St., South St. and Gray’s Ferry Ave. meet).

Further down South Street, Percy Street BBQ is offering 10 percent off tabs for guests with University of Pennsylvania and Drexel IDs.
