It was weird enough when Spike Lee lent his name to Absoluts latest flavor, but this has to cross some sort of line: Dallas BBQ (no stranger to garish advertising) has declared its frozen apple martini a Spike Lee collaboration (just like it says on the bottle of Absolut Brooklyn). Maybe Spike hasnt lost all credibility: The slophouses motto is Real New Yorkers Party Here. Meanwhile, Zagat Buzz spots a glorified deli advertising its Pat LaFriedas Burger and wonders, Does this sort of thing dilute the brand, or do you want to gorge on LaFrieda anytime you have the chance?
