So, Here’s Where You Can Eat Smoked Pig Eyeballs

Turns out you don’t have to go to Staten Island to eat eyeballs (No. 2 on Robert Sietsema’s list of the city’s most challenging dishes today). We’ve discovered that through November, Fette Sau is doing the whole-pig thing every Thursday and serving the smoked eyeballs at $16 per pound (so, cheap). Since they use only one pig, only two eyeballs are available — which means you basically have to get there right when the place opens at 5 p.m. If you have trouble stomaching even the thought of this, consider the woman who encourages her fauxhawked son in this YouTube video: “It’s just a pig eyeball, that’s it.”
