Looks like Smashburger’s Brooklyn plans have solidified: According to Diner’s Journal, the chain plans to open three locations in Brooklyn early next year (it isn’t said where, exactly). Meanwhile, the folks at Elevation Burger (which, like Smashburger, has a location in Montclair, New Jersey, but has yet to open one in the city) tell us that next month they’ll open a location at 103 West 14th Street, near Sixth Avenue. The chain, which makes its burgers from organic, grass-fed beef that’s ground on the premises, is planning two dozen locations in the metropolitan area in the next few years. Don’t be surprised when you suddenly start seeing them everywhere, just like Checkers!
