Radio Africa & Kitchen Due Early Next Year

Radio Africa & Kitchen, the pop-up from chef Eskender Aseged that currently serves up Moroccan and Middle-Eastern-influenced food at Coffee Bar on Fridays, is moving permanently into the 4800 Third Street complex, as we mentioned once before. Now, according to a new piece in the Weekly about the nearby, newly restored Bayview Opera House, Radio Africa should be opening “early next year.” The Opera House is currently operating as a sort of community center but may soon become an occasional music venue. Says interim managing director Barbara Ockel, “One of the things I’d love to do is have some kind of collaboration with Yoshi’s. And we’ve talked about a music and food night with Radio Africa & Kitchen.” And as we noted earlier, joining Radio Africa up the street at 5800 Third Street will be a new Limon Rotisserie, in the upcoming Fresh & Easy grocery complex.
