If you like a little jitter with your buzz, you soon could be out of luck in Pennsylvania. The overlords of all things booze, the PLCB, is asking distributors to stop carrying Four Loko and similar caffeinated malt liquor beverages as concerns grow deeper over the safety of the popular drinks. It’s not an outright ban, mind you, but a polite request to distributors to remove such products from their shelves until the FDA can complete its safety review of them. Sleepy drunks who are looking for a substitute for their overly sweetened and overly caffeinated fruity alcohol fix better get used to Irish coffee. [6 ABC]
