It’s time for another casual spinoff in this Year of Casual Dining. Dcantr (2128 Folsom) opens for business tonight, offering some very Saison-like dishes from Joshua Skenes on an à la carte basis, out of the Stable Café, as well as wines by the glass selected by wine director Mark Bright. It’s a welcome development for everyone who’s wanted to try Saison (freshly off their Michelin star win) but couldn’t commit to the nine-course tasting menu.

Here’s the opening menu for Dcantr, and Skenes tells us he’s most excited for the live Monterey spot prawns dish, roasted in the wood oven, with pimenton de la vera and Meyer lemon. Update: We had previously reported that the Dcantr menu could be enjoyed on Saison’s patio, but we were mistaken. However, items from Saison’s menu may now be ordered back there à la carte.
