Martin Yan to Bring High-End Chinese to Westfield’s Fourth Floor

Famed TV chef Martin Yan (Yan Can Cook, Wok With Yan, Martin Yan’s China), who after Julia Child can claim a pioneering role in televised cooking show history, will be opening Martin Yan’s Noodle Revolution at the Westfield Centre in summer or fall of 2011. The Chron’s Inside Scoop has the dish, and Yan says he wants to “give people a glimpse into the tastes of China” beyond Chinatown. There’ll be some theater to the place, with an open kitchen and live hand-pulling of noodles. The lease is signed, and Yan hopes for a four-month buildout, with a mid-2011 opening. Our only question is, which space is he moving into? Lark Creek Pizza is taking over the former Zazil space by early next year, so what does that leave? Straits?
