The cult of butchering continues to gain steam in L.A., as recently evidenced by the contemporary meat surgeons ruling McCall’s Meat & Fish and Salt’s Cure. A chance to catch up with the trend is available as Chicks with Knives teams up with L.A.’s forthcoming sustainable butchers Lindy and Grundy to teach a knife skills class. The foursome will demonstrate how to break down a full lamb at Surfas on Sunday, November 14th, while serving light appetizers and (hopefully non-boozy) beverages. The $125 class isn’t just for people who want to get off on watching a woolly creature get sliced into lambchops, but a hands-on experience teaching you how to sharpen and care for your boning or chef’s knife before you test out the blade’s edge on fish and chicken, which you get to take home with some lamb meat.
