After a lengthy absence from the region, Krispy Kreme is gearing up to open its first Philly area franchise in five years tomorrow. The new location at 7855 Oxford Avenue in Fox Chase, which will be operated by partners Keith Morgan and Brian Zaslow, will open at 6 a.m., according to a press release. A ribbon cutting ceremony takes place at 10 a.m. The first customers to walk through the doors and pull up at the drive-thru will each be awarded with a free dozen doughnuts each week for a year, and the next 11 in the store or at the drive-thru will receive a free dozen doughniuts each month for a year. And the first 100 visitors to the store will receive free Krispy Kreme t-shirts.
