Trans fat, smoking, Four Loko … now this. Brookliners are moving to ban veal from grocery shelves and restaurant menus. Their town meeting passed a resolution that asks grocers, restaurants, caterers, and other vendors to stop selling or serving crated veal in a 163-4 vote. Proponents of the movement say that veal calves are treated inhumanely, separated from their mothers soon after birth and forced into restrictive crates. Best get your veal parmesan elsewhere.
