If you’re searching for breakfast on weekdays at 7:00 A.M. on Bunker Hill, our condolences, Bandini, you’re probably not going to find a coffee shop with a feisty waitress to sweep you off your feet. But Kendall’s Brasserie is taking the plunge into breakfast at that grim hour, plunking down affordable French options for a new breakfast that stretches to 10:00 A.M. The options sound like those you’d find in Paris’s George V at three times the price (although a $4 side of avocado would fit right in). There are options for petite dejouner or a $9.50 continental breakfast with chocolate croissants, alongside choices of Scottish smoked salmon, omelettes, and a bacon and gruyere quiche. But what better symbolizes the union between lofty French food and a practical breakfast than the restaurant’s creme brulee oatmeal? This $7.50 blend of steel-cut oats and vanilla custard sounds most blehtacular, with the heart-healthy oats hopefully balancing out the spike in blood sugar that comes attached to it.
