Logan Square wasn’t exactly in need of another bar, but this is good news nonetheless. Though it just opened July, The Boiler Room is apparently doing well enough that the owner, Russ Grant, and managers, Andy Gould and Mandy Tandy, have decided to open a new bar two doors down from The Whistler. The space had previously been a sports bar called Boni’s, which never really seemed to be that busy. We just confirmed that they’ve slightly changed the name, settling on Bonnie’s. Talking to The Feast, Gould noted that it took ten days to rehab the old space. “It still has the dive bar feel,” said Gould, “without the dive bar grime.” Looks like there is no food for now, but, you know, there is that Michelin starred restaurant around the corner.
