Joe Bastianich wasn’t kidding when he said he’d fight the lawsuit brought by disgruntled workers: The Post reports that he and Batali have filed a $6 million suit against the Restaurant Opportunities Center of NY for “‘terrorizing’ people, flooding the phone lines with threats, and saying they would keep going ‘until justice was served.’” Bastianich says a judge has already issued a restraining order against protesters. It isn’t the first time the industry has taken an aggressive stance against picketers; a couple of years ago, Wild Edibles staged a counteroffensive against the organizer of protests outside of various restaurants around town. Of course, that company eventually agreed to pay out $340,000.
