Lucio Palazzo, who took over the reins at the Stephen Cook and Michael Solomonov-owned Xochitl earlier this year when former chef Dionicio Jimenez was recruited for Stephen Starr’s El Rey, revamped the mod-mex restaurant’s menus for fall. Some of the dishes diners may recognize as seasonal updates of Xochitl mainstays, while others are entirely new. Some highlights include Huarache de Calabaza, fresh masa tortilla with black beans, pumpkin, slow-poached egg and pomegranate-chipotle salsa, and Lentejas, spiced beluga lentil stew with squash, kale and walnuts, royal trumpet mushrooms a la plancha.
