Harvard Square Is Blowing Up

Lovers of yuppie yogurt, Korean barbecue, and vegetarian sandwiches: figure out the shortest route to Harvard Square. They’re all headed there next year. The fate of 1380 Mass Ave has already been the topic of much supposition, but Pinkberry and Starbucks aren’t the only new arrivals on the books. We leaked some news about Bull Korean BBQ and Zinnekan’s, but that’s just scratching the surface. Four more openings are anticipated for the collegiate set’s favorite square by year’s end.

Clover Food Lab—the Clover Food Truck offshoot—has secured its beer and wine license and construction is underway. It seems food trucks staking out a permanent branch is a thing now. The “go green or go home” outpost will be housed at 7 Holyoke St.

Enzo’s Pizzeria, from the owners of Otto Pizza in Portland, will take over the old Finagle-A-Bagel address at 1432 Mas Ave by December.

Al, of Al’s State Street and Al’s South’s Street, is crossing the river to offer its lunchtime wares in the Holyoke Center and also anticipates a December opening.

And the former Herrell’s owner will try to take back the square with the opening of First Printer Restaurant. Named after a plaque identifying the Dunster St. address as home to the first printer, the Herrell’s owners plan to make the place, according to a Crimson interview, a “down to earth restaurant” offering New England fare where “you can take a young lady for 20 or 30 bucks” (read: there will be a full bar).
