Jamie Lauren, the Top Chef vet and former chef at San Francisco’s Absinthe Brasserie and Bar, has taken over the kitchen at Venice’s Beechwood. Already chef Lauren has made changes to the gastro-pub’s menu, including turning their beloved burger into a new version called “the really good burger” made with heirloom tomatoes, raclette, and spicy onions. A few other new additions appear to be Sonoma duck confit tacos, hiramasa crudo, and pierogi with Yukon potato, goat cheese, mustard oil, and fried cabbage. The chef adds via Twitter that the complete new menu will be finished and in place following this coming weekend. Jamie is also inviting people to come in and say hi, including a Tweeted invitation to former Chef-testant Hosea Rosenberg. No word yet on what her Stefan Richter policy will be.
