Seeing the World Through Pastrami-Cured Glasses

So yes, pastrami is newly trendy. NYC Foodie liked the pastrami egg roll at Food Parc, but now At the Sign of the Pink Pig tries the croissant at Momofuku Milk Bar and decides that, well, there’s not enough pastrami in it — especially when you can score a whopping sandwich of the stuff at This Little Piggy nearby. For a really whopping helping of brined beef, check out Kevin O’Callaghan’s ten-foot pastrami-sandwich sculpture, unveiled at the Brooklyn Flea last weekend. (If watching the video sells you on the project’s sponsor, SeamlessWeb, inserting the promo code MOREEAT gets $10 off your first delivery order till November 30.) Oh, and we can’t mention pastrami without steering you toward Josh Ozersky’s recent visit to Russ & Daughters; he tries the pastrami-cured salmon, of course, but even better is when he feeds some bagel to a parrot.
