Booze You Can Use

Please Note These Boozy Events Coming Up Tonight and Next Week

We’d like to alert you to a couple of drinking-type events on the horizon. Next Wednesday is the last CUESA farmers’ market cocktail happy hour of the year at the Ferry Building. The theme of this one is ‘Preserved and Pickled’ and will include representative ‘tenders from DOSA, Elixir, 15 Romolo, Zero Zero, and others. Tickets here.

Also, Heart is doing two events, one tonight and one on Halloween.

Tonight’s is a Txakoli party, celebrating this white wine from the Basque region of Spain allegedly beloved by hipsters. There’s a Basque food menu, and you get a flight of three Txakolis for $5, and you get your $5 back if you buy a bottle. The fun starts like now, at 5:30 and goes til 9:30.

Then, on Halloween Sunday, Heart is throwing an “anti-Halloween” party of sorts called “Flesh and the Devil.” It’s speakeasy-themed, with Prohibition-era-inspired bites from Kitchenette, and a special complimentary “hair of the dog” shot, which likely won’t contain moonshine. As for costumes, there will be a contest, but you’re also free to lurk in the shadows and watch the projected classic horror movies sans costume. The only hitch is you need a password to get in, which can be obtained by signing up for the Heart newsletter (scroll down to bottom). [Grub Street]
