Oringer Heats Up Morning TV

Clio and Toro chef Ken Oringer made a weekend appearance on the Early Show’s “Chef on a Shoestring” series. Latin-themed dishes were the order of the day, and in keeping with the show’s premise, Oringer produced three courses, all for under $40. The dishes drew well from his repertoire incorporating a contemporary technique for producing a tomato water soup (a la Clio), a carne asada taco (reminiscent of La Verdad) and churros (just like Toro makes). One suggestion for CBS: how about investing in a hood for that stage kitchen? Click through to check out the video.
