Given that this first weekend in October is usually, technically, the swan song of Indian Summer in S.F., it’s also traditionally packed with events. This year is no exception, with not only Hardly Strictly Bluegrass and Castro Street Fair, but also the kickoff of LitQuake, the annual book nerd fest that culminates in a reading cum bar crawl next weekend. KQED hit up LitQuake founder Jack Boulware to discuss his favorite haunts for eating and drinking, and he must live in the Tenderloin because most of them are around there: Edinburgh Castle Pub, Chutney (“Do not go there,” he says, hoping not to let out the secret, but Jones Street is enough of a deterrent for most), Farmer Brown, and Tu Lan.
