Duskie Estes Ends Her Four-Episode Run on Next Iron Chef

Well, as of last night’s episode of Next Iron Chef, that’s all she wrote for Duskie Estes’s brush with chef-reality TV. The Sonoma County chef was voted off by the judges after her “mustardfruit” experiment turned out to be less than appetizing. Duskie tried to represent for the sustainable-local-farm-to-table ilk, but in the end only made it through four episodes and last week turns out to have been her high point. Eater National calls her a “hapless fool” who “can’t make caramel,” but then again, their recap style tends to score high on the snark-o-meter. Cheers, Duskie.
