Where do your allegiances lie, ice cream-wise? It’s hardly the right weather right now to be talking about this, but Jon Logan does a side-by-side pictorial today for Mission Local, sans comment, of longtime San Francisco institution Mitchell’s and recent but oh-so-popular arrival Humphry Slocombe. One sticks to standards like Peach, Mango, and only gets as wild as Makuno (Sweet Coconut); the other makes flavors like Jesus Juice, which many of you already know is red wine and Coke. There may never be a clear winner, but the NYT isn’t writing about Mitchell’s, so there’s that.
