At a talk he just gave at Omnivore Books in San Francisco, Bottega chef and Top Chef Masters runner up Michael Chiarello says that he’s working with Ryan Seacrest to develop a new TV series. “It’s a show about lost recipes. Recipes are lost stories, lost treasures, and inside these recipes are the face of a family so these stories have to continue to be told,” Chiarello said, and Feast notes that the idea may figure into Seacrest’s rumored plans for his own cable network. This idea bears some similarity to the project Alton Brown recently told us about on the history of cookbooks. Does this mean old cookbooks are the new thing?
