Cake Man Raven Would Like to Apologize to the Brooklyn Community

Plenty of operators bitch and moan when they have to answer to the Health Department, but Cake Man Raven is taking the high road. We’d expect nothing less from someone who goes by the name Cake Man. Here’s the contrite statement he just sent us about his closing (and then reopening) in the wake of a 78-point inspection.

There have been news reports recently about my bakery being in violation of various department of health guidelines. I want to state in response to those reports that it has always been and continues to be my intention to be in full compliance with the health department’s rules and regulations. So I must accept total responsibility for my bakery not being in compliance with the guidelines set forth by the New York State Dept of Health.

Going forward, I am in the process of restructuring my management team and I will do everything in my power to ensure that my products and my bakery meet the highest standards of excellence. I would also like to apologize to the Brooklyn, national and international community for any inconvenience the temporary closing of Cake Man Raven’s bakery might have caused. And I want to assure all of my customers that the quality of my cake has not been — and will not be — compromised.
