Menton, Craigie on Main Among ‘Boston Magazine’ Top 50 List

Boston Magazine’s November issue hit the stands this week and it includes the editors’ picks for the Hub’s 50 best restaurants. (Though the list doesn’t appear to be on Boston’s site yet.) Click through to see who made the cut.

A handy cheat sheet marks the first pages of the spread and evidences that Boston Magazine did not miss the mark in naming their top 50. The empires (Lynch, Oringer, and Shire) stand strong, and some new faces make the grade, like Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s Market, Ten Tables Cambridge, and Tiffani Faison, who breathed new life into Rocca.

And then there’s the “Great Expectations” list, which basically reads like a list of places the editors wanted to love, but didn’t. The story says it’s because it’s too soon to tell with many of them, but didn’t Bergamot, which is on the Expectations list, open just a couple of days after Menton? (Then again, according to the story Menton has food that you “savor and think about for days.”)

Here’s the full list. (As for the “Great Expectations,” no one likes a recommendation with a caveat attached.)
