Zach Brooks Gets White-Washed in Thai Town

Following last week’s panel on celebrity chefs, we got treated like total jive turkeys at Mar Vista’s Mariscos Tatiana, where the chef figured we couldn’t handle the heat of a few chipotles on their so-so cemitas and decided to just leave them off for our benefit. While we ponder the ups and downs of Westside Mexican food and what Tony Chen calls being “whited,” Zach Brooks is steaming about this sort of treatment at L.A.’s Thai restaurants, among six other lunch time bugaboos that he can’t stand. He names names when calling out such annoyances as those who choose to close in the middle of the week, fake-azz barbecue and shawarma, and a special entry reserved just for Chego in a list of “7 Reasons to Hate L.A.
