The idea behind the Chicago Food Film Festival is so simple and genius that we are upset we didn’t think of it first. The event next weekend will pair documentary food films with locally made food. So, George Motz’s The Best Hamburger in America will be followed by some burgers from DMK Burger Bar. Our good friend Mike Gebert from Sky Full of Bacon will be showing off “Pie As A Lifestyle” on Friday featuring some great pies from Hoosier Mama. Get it? Anyway, here’s what we want do know. We all know that movies and popcorn are the classic pairing, but we love this idea of pairing specific foods to certain movies. We’d like you to send us an example of a perfect film and food pairing, and then you’ll have a chance to win a couple tickets to the Chicago Food Film Festival. Check out the fine details below.

Here are the details:
1. Pick a film
2. Pick a food that would pair perfectly with it.
3. Write a couple sentences to describe why it is the best film and food pairing ever. Extra points for snacks that are portable and somehow relevant to the movie watching experience. (ratatouille for Ratatouille will be immediately disqualified).
4. Send it to this e-mail address by Tuesday, September 21 at 5 p.m.

We’ll choose our favorite and send you a couple of tickets. Easy, right? But even if you don’t get picked, we’ll send you a promotional code that will at least save you a few dollars on the event. Bust out your Netflix queue and see what looks delicious.
