White Heron Grill, the unfussy bistro that replaced Blackfish in Stone Harbor that Grub Street mentioned back in July, is extending its season through September and serving dinner seven nights a week. Throughout the month, the restaurant will offer half-priced bar snacks for Sunday and Monday night football games, buy-one-get-one-free wines by the glass on Wednesdays and live entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights. Executive Chef Carl Messick has also revamped White Heron’s menus for the fall season. Highlights include Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, White Heron Clam Chowder, with bacon and clams, and Crispy Muscovy Duck Breast, with sweet potato puree, roasted Swiss chard, candied orange, foie gras, and cider reduction.
