It doesn’t usually happen like this. We’re used to waiting months and months for new restaurants to open, only to find out that “the city” delayed it because of an inspection or something like that. So you can imagine our surprise when Vincent was announced in late July, given a menu in August, and is now planning to open on Friday. The Andersonville American/Dutch bistro will be headed by Joncarl Lachman, who is already the chef/owner of HB (Home Bistro).

As befitting an American/Dutch bistro, the menu features a mix of the two cuisines. While everything looks good on the menu, we have do admit to looking forward more to the Dutch inspired items like the Moules Frites, the Maatjesharing Shot, and (why not) some Zaansemosterdsoep. Check out the full menu here.

Vincent also happens to sit right next to Great Lake, which has some of the most notoriously long lines in the city. We’ll have to see whether Vincent can snag some of the overflow, or manage to set up its own steady business. Good luck.
