The Russian Equivalent of Bon App to Feature San Francisco

We got word today from an editor at Afisha Eda magazine that the popular, Moscow-based food publication is doing a San Francisco edition next month. Founded in October 2008, they appear to be the Russian equivalent of Bon Appetit or Food & Wine, catering to the country’s burgeoning middle class with various recipes, food and wine stories, and gastronomic travel stories about Europe and the U.K. – see the Jamie Oliver cover at left. The only mention thus far of America, which we found with the help of a translator, was a story about a cowboy named Roy who moved to Russia and presumably cooks. We don’t have an exact pub date for you for the S.F. edition, but we’ll let you know as soon as we do. [Grub Street]
