Formerly Lyons Den and soon to be Kennett

Yards Brewing Co.’s John “Johnny Carwash” Della Polla recently purchased the Queen Village bar Lyons Den, and plans to take the venerable watering hole back to its roots, the Beer Lass reports. One of his first changes will be to rename the bar Kennett, in honor of the family who first established a bar on the premises back in 1924. That name still adorns the foundation stone on the front of the building. Other plans include making it the city’s greenest bar. That’s green as in LEED certified and minimal carbon footprint, not green beer on St. Patrick’s Day. The kitchen will serve snacks, charcuterie, burgers, wood-fired pizzas and entrees.
