Cheesesteak impresario Joey Vento’s ubiquitous bling is not up to city health codes, the Inquirer’s Michael Klein reported yesterday. As part of a year-long clampdown on business code violations that’s being headed by Licenses and Inspection, Health Department inspectors cited Vento for wearing excessive jewelry while slinging cheesesteaks at Geno’s. The health inspection reportedly took place around the same time that L&I; found Geno’s outdoor seating violated city codes. Not surprising, following a second inspection, the Health Department dropped the jewelry citation.
