General Lafayette Inn, the historic restaurant and craft brewery in nearby Lafayette Hill, closed yesterday, according to Jack Curtain’s Liquid Diet. While current owner Chris Leonard has had an agreement of sale for the inn for the past 11 months, the banks involved and United States Small Business Administration have been unable to work out their differences to approve the sale. In order for Leonard and head brewer Russ Czajkaare to continue focusing their efforts on their new venture, Copper Crow Beer Company, they decided to close the restaurant. According to the terms of the agreement, once a sale is finalized and titles and licenses have been transferred, the two will continue to utilize the space’s brewing facility to make Copper Crow beers and house brews for the restaurant.
