Fit Food Opens In WeHo This Sunday

Only in West Hollywood would “Fit” take the priority before “Food” and still sound appealing. Fit Food, a health-conscious concept from caterers of the same name, will debut this Sunday at Santa Monica Blvd. and Crescent Heights. The eatery will target fitness buffs and gym-goers with a menu prepared by chef Joey Santos, of Hollywood’s long-departed El Mocambo and Jojo’s Americana in Michigan, preparing the same recipes the restaurant used to cater for Glee and American Idol. Nutritionists have been brought in to consult on dishes that are promised to have balanced carb, protein, and fat content, including hearty traditional dishes made with lighter substitutions with appearances from turkey meatballs and turkey bacon, chicken burgers, roasted salmon, brown rice penne with turkey bolognese. A full menu, with photos and nutritional information (and beefcake photos of the owners), is posted on Fit Food’s website and really does look like the kind of stuff we should be eating instead of duck prosciutto and all those bacon-wrapped, foie gras, pork belly-laden ice cream burgers we enjoy.

Fit-Food, 7998 Santa Monica Blvd. West Hollywood. 888-993-7779.
