Update your records, folks. After nearly six years, Dinosaur Bar-B-Q’s current location on 131st Street is being gobbled up by Columbia; it’ll close after dinner on September 29 and then on the evening of the 30th, Dinosaur will reopen about a block away, in a 7,200-square-foot space (appropriately enough, a former meatpacking plant) on 125th Street. The old ceiling beams have been used for new tables as well as a larger bar (still 25 beers on tap), and the art motorcycles have been brought down from the rafters to booth level. You’ll now find more breathing room in the bar area (phew!), as well as a proper stage for live acts. The menu is the same as the one that was introduced to the old location four months ago (see it below), but the ’cue will be prepared in brand-spankin’-new smokers (don’t worry, John Stage has been flavoring them with smoke over the past couple of weeks). Page through our slideshow and look for a new 1910s lithograph of “George, the Supreme Master of Magic.”
