A new Brazilian restaurant is almost ready to open in University Village shopping center on Hoover in West Adams. Named for Rio’s famous mountain boasting that massive Jesus statue on its peak, Corcovado Brazilian Grill plans traditional cuisine for lunch and dinner with chances high that it will be a churrascaria of some sort, especially since a Facebook page announces it will be "good for groups." Currently, the eatery plans on an opening the week after labor day and could become a rallying point for homesick Brazilian ‘stus at USC and maybe some Downtowners reluctant to travel to Palms, Fogo de Chao, or El Sereno, when craving their next taste of Brazil.
