We just heard some sort of sad news from our friends over at Time Out Chicago about Aaron Deal. After losing his job at the Custom House Tavern, the chef just took a new job in Chilhowie, Virginia at Town House. Though located in a very small town, the restaurant is well respected, and even known for its molecular gastronomy. So it’s actually kind of awesome news for Deal, if not really for us and all those interested in snagging one of Chicago’s most eligible bachelors. There may some silver lining in this all, though.
He’s leaving Chicago for now, the stint at Town House is apparently only temporary. He told TOC in an e-mail that he took the job just “to keep my culinary mind sharp and up to date.” But his plans afterward are still up in the air. Well, congrats on the new gig anyway.
