Rockaway Taco closes this Sunday with an end-of-season block party — the shack promises “food, booze, and waves” via Twitter. Around the corner, the venerable Connolly’s unplugged its colada machines over Labor Day weekend, and Rockaway Rod (the local dead ringer for Rod Stewart) was forced to find a new home. As of today, summer is officially over, but don’t pack up those Wayfarers just yet. There are plenty of urban oases where you can still let the wind whip through your hair. Here’s our rundown of who’s closed and who’s still hanging around.
