You can thank us later, but please join in a little interactive fun that will result in you possibly winning six — count ‘em six — free drink tickets at Oakland’s Eat Real Festival and a commemorative mason jar to drink your beer or wine from. The fest kicks off Thursday with a special “Keeping It Real” dinner at Camino ($85 per person including wine, reserve at that link), but the real fun begins Friday when Slow Food’s own take on a street food fest kicks off at Jack London Square. Not only will there be a ton of good food from these fine vendors, and a great many gallons of beer and wine from 25 different breweries and wineries, there’s also going to be a bunch of live demonstrations over three days in the new Urban Homesteading Zone on everything from backyard chicken-keeping to making your own ricotta.
Here’s what you have to do: In the comments below, tell us why you most deserve free booze at this weekend’s festival. You can be either sincere or funny, pulling at our heartstrings or tickling our sometimes dark sense of humor. We’ll pick our three favorites on Thursday morning, and by noon on Thursday we’ll inform them and update this post with our winners. Limit one entry per contestant.
What you’ll win: Six drink tickets at the Eat Real Fest, which you’ll find under your name at the Will Call table, and a commemorative mason jar. This is the equivalent of three full glasses of beer or wine, or six tasting portions, good for use anytime during the festival between Friday and Sunday.
