Forget the Emmys — the Food Network has released its list of nominees for America’s Favorite Food Truck, and the one that gets the most votes will receive $10,000 and the chance to appear on the next season of The Great Food Truck Race. Boston gets snubbed (sorry, cupcake truck!), but New York trucks include El Diablo Tacos, Eddie’s Pizza Truck (which plans to donate its winnings to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation), the Treats Truck, the Bistro Truck, newcomer Mexicue, Big Gay Ice Cream Truck, NYC Cravings, and Calexico (which is a cart, not a truck?).
Chicago noms include the Gastro-Wagon, Flirty Cupcakes on Wheels, and Happy Bodega. San Fran trucks include KaraVan, Senor Sisig, the Crème Brulee Cart, Chairman Bao, El Tonayense, Sabor, Curry Up Now, Spencer on the Go, and Pizza Hacker. And L.A. gets the lion’s share of nominations: Summer Fling, Coolhaus, Great Balls On Tires, Manila Machine, Nana Queen’s, Greenz on Wheelz, Grill ’Em All, Grilled Cheese Truck, the Place, the Sweets Truck, the Flying Pig, the Munchie Machine, Border Grill, Greasy Wiener, Tasty Meat, and the Knockout Taco Truck, among dozens of others in the Southern California area.
