The Short, Brutal Life of The Majestic Plastic Bag

Heal the Bay is pushing hard for a ban on single-use plastic shopping bags in California, with their bill AB 1998 currently in the state Senate and a commitment from the Governor to sign it if it passes through to his desk. To urge people into calling their senators, the local non-profit created a mockumentary detailing the short and brutal life of a plastic bag, tracing its journey from the grocery store to the sea. The four-minute film manages to be darkly hilarious while stoking flashbacks of American Beauty and your typical Nature Channel program. But in the end, once the bag has completed its journey “home” to the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, the clip effectively serves as one of the scariest horror movies we’ve seen. Take a look at The Majestic Plastic Bag.
