Now open smack dab between two very good taco trucks, Tacos El Gallito and Tacos Leo, is Tacos El Paisano on Venice Blvd., east of Hauser. A fairly simple dinerette with a similarly simple menu, Paisano serves chilaquiles and huevos rancheros for breakfast, plus pozole and menudo on weekends, and homestyle hot chocolate. Nachos de asada, mojarra frita, flautas, and shrimp fajitas make up the rest of the menu, along with tacos and burritos with lengua, pastor, asada, chorizo, and pollo. This Paisano will have to be strong on these staples to keep us from the two trucks book-ending it and those beyond.
