Shack Sneak Attack: Shake Shack Upper East Side Is Now Open!

Hot on the heels of the theater district Shake Shack, Union Square Hospitality Group has announced that Shake Shack Upper East Side will open this Friday, with a soft-opening today (and tomorrow) from noon to 8 p.m. Hours expand from 11 a.m. till 11 p.m. daily starting Friday. As with the theater district location, SITE Environmental Design has used wood recycled from old bowling alley lanes for the tables, and in this instance, they’ve also used Coney Island boardwalk wood for benches. New concrete flavors include Coffee Bean Brownie (vanilla custard, brownies, coffee caramel, whipped cream), Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunchcrete (chocolate custard, peanut-butter sauce, chocolate toffee, chocolate sprinkles), and Pineapple Upper East Side Cake (vanilla custard, fresh pineapple, shortbread, caramel, maraschino cherries). This fourth NYC location is set on a pedestrian plaza (outdoor seating!) and it’s right by Papaya King, in case the line gets too long …
