Grindcore House will specialize in coffee and vegan comestibles - not the skull-splitting metal as it’s name might imply - when it opens on Saturday in the Pennsport neighborhood, according to Meal Ticket. The new shop will feature reclaimed wood tables, coffee and some vegan specialties. For its opening festivities, Grindcore House will host “PHL: Printers/Haters/Lovers,” an art show that will feature printed works from local artists that celebrate the city. [Meal Ticket]

Across town, Snackbar, the seemingly ever in flux Rittenhouse corner bar and restaurant is temporarily closed for the past few days, while minor renovations have been taking place, the Insider reports. Owner Jonathan Makar tore out the old, tiny corner bar and is replacing it with an expanded one that seats 10 to 12 guests. The menus are also being revamped to focus more on bar snacks. Work should be completed Friday. [Insider]
