Attention to anyone working in the loop: Matt Maroni’s Gaztro-Wagon will be rolling up to the Board of Trade today at 11 a.m. with a special guest. Phillip Foss will be on board serving a Tunisian-style lamb naan-wich, which he claims is actually the recipe of his wife, Kenni. “I’m representing my wife’s food truck concept,” he told us. “Our concept is a puffy pan bread sandwich she’s a master of, but since this was short notice we will be featuring a potential filling: Tunisian style lamb.” Foss is not the only chef that will appear on the food truck, as a number of the city’s top talent will hop on board to help bring attention to the Share Our Strength charity event called Taste of the Nation, which is happening on August 12.
Todd Stein (cibo matto), David Carrier (Kith & Kin), Michael Fiorello (Mercat a la Planxa), and Kristine Subido (WAVE), will all be making the rounds on the truck eventually. The full schedule hasn’t been released yet, but you can keep an eye out on the the Gaztro-Wagon’s web site.
