Don’t Eat the Alligator in the Chicago River

Unlike the supposed alligators in New York sewers, there are honest-to-goodness alligators in the Chicago River. Chicago Breaking News reports the second one spotted since last month near Ravenswood Gardens. Why the alligator would want to put up with the cold winters and high taxes is beyond us, but there he or she is making us even more scared of the Chicago River than we already were. Much like how we are supposed to eat our way out of the Asian carp fiasco, we thought the next natural move would be to systematically hunt down the species and set up a local distributor for alligator meat to serve places like Mac and Mins. But according to Chicagoist, the river isn’t exactly the cleanest in the world, so we’d suggest getting your alligator meat elsewhere. You can always go here. [Chicago Breaking News]
